Lady at the Jharokha

When it comes to paintings, Rajasthan is an ever inspiring muse! … with it’s vibrant color, beautiful people & awe inspiring architecture …

Saw this picture on a card & really loved it, especially the rich feel of the Jharokha & the surrounding architecture.

The original is sooo much more beautiful but I have tried my best to do justice.

This is also my very first painting using water-colour pencils. They are very easy to use as compared to cake colours but not as bright as poster paints.

But it is fun using it. The tricky part is merging the colours with water afterwards.

Hope you liked it….

Tribal Art – Wall Hanging

This Tribal art frame is one of my favourite pieces of art…

My sister made this more than a year back & it’s been a part of our home décor ever since…

It’s a classic example of best out of waste!!

The painting is done on handmade made paper made at home using old newspapers!!.. kool isn’t it…
It is then painted with water-colors using a sponge. Make sure to use as little water as possible.. lest it makes the paper all soggy.

To give it an earthy feel, the frame is made with rolled paper & wool cord…

Simply loved the bright colors & rugged look....

Kusudama Balls

Kusudama balls are decorative balls made using Japanese origami techniques.

They come in various designs. This one is one of the simplest & quite popular designs.

It’s so easy to make, making it one of the cheapest & simplest way to decorate your room!!

Radha Krishna – Glass Painting

Did this Glass painting a couple of years back.

The most difficult part was sketching the design!! ... It’s very difficult getting the proportions right L

Tried to experiment with liner work & kundan work on it.

One of my best glass painting works till date...

Friendship Tags

I love these tags, which my sis & I made for an exhibition about a year back....

These little tags are cute gifts perfect to gift to friend on Friendship’s day.... Or simply to let know how special & cherished they are!!!

Am planning to make more of these with inspirational quotes... with surely post them when I get around making them :-)

Quilled Seascape

Quilling is a really fascinating paper art form. And there is so much you can do with it!!

This is a quilled sea-scape, with layered papers used to create the background. All the ferns, frogs, fishes & pebbles are quilled.

More quilled crafts are on the way... Hang on....

Ganpati Mural

Made this mural out of an old piece of canvas board that had been lying around for quite some time now, the result of one my initial failed attempts at oil painting!!!

So this was a make-over of sorts. To cover-up my disastrous painting, textured the entire surface with ceramic paste. The Ganpati & the mouse were made with M-seal.

The background is painted with pearl green colour & the Ganpati with metallic colors.

The side corners were looking quite empty, so decorate with yellow liner & aluminium embellishments.

It was the first time I tried the textured look.... & I guess one can never go wrong with Ganeshji :-)
